Based in Jacksonville, Star Collar is a four-piece that specializes in unabashed fusion.

Since they started releasing originals in 2022, Star Collar has been growing in the Florida DIY scene. Along with the usual instruments one might see in a rock group (electric guitar, bass, drums, keys), this band also experiments with saxophones and the occasional synthesizer.

Star Collar’s lyricism, instrumentation, and themes pull from alt-rock, blues, jazz, and indie inspirations. Their original songs often focus on love relationships, nature’s beauty, and dreams for the future. Their complex instrumentations sometimes border on math rock.

Despite Star Collar’s undeniably positive vibes, though, a sense of gloomy longing pervades their driving sound. Their most recent release, “She Is” stands as the perfect combination of Star Collar’s moody vocals and somber tones.
