Striking Matches
This duo of songwriters/guitarists/singers bends the genres of country, rock, and blues.
Striking Matches, Sarah Zimmermann and Justin Davis, met at a seminar class for guitarists while in college in Nashville. Short story: they quit school and started writing and performing together.
Their music is country with a rock or blues vibe, or rock with a country vibe, or simply their music. A number of their songs were performed in the 2012 season of the show Nashville, including "When the Right One Comes Along," "If It's Love," and "Playin' Tricks." Their song, "Waiting," was featured on the soundtrack of the 2020 movie, The Secret: Dare to Dream.
In addition to their songwriting success, the duo both have serious guitar skills and any time they perform their own songs, they show those skills.
