Sun Child

Brooke Garwood grew up in Ponte Vedra Beach and returned to Northeast Florida after college to write music and perform as a solo act and with others. Her most recent project is the band Sun Child.

From a musical family, Brooke started playing the piano when she was three and grew up singing and playing music with family and friends. Brooke writes songs, plays several instruments, and sings. Previously she was in the duo, Girl Pluto.

Brook cites Fleetwood Mac, Billie Eilish, and others in-between as artists who have influenced her. Brooke's vocals are soft and strong and her music feels like a new blend of folk and pop.

Brooke performs frequently as a solo artist, and in a trio with a violinist and bassist. In her newest project, Sun Child, she performs with a full band. For their debut EP, Everything, released in the spring of 2023, Brooke wrote six original songs, all inspired by her own life. These six songs confirm that Brooke is fully prepared to experience life with all its magnificant mess, and isn't afraid to sing about love or the loss of it.
