Tim Higgins
Reflections on descent, downturns, devolution, and distance.
Drawing from his experience living in Detroit's Rust Belt, and in Alabama's Black Belt, Tim Higgins writes of history, destruction, responsibility, and a favorite subject, blight. Naming an early album Blight, which was built on his first single release, "Blight," he penned the work to critical acclaim, including Rolling Stone's Best New Country/Americana music on November 9, 2018.
Higgins' third single and video, "Take Me Away," released in 2020, was recognized by Rolling Stone's Country Pick of the Week. His recent release, "Lost in Heaven" is the introspection of a touring musician living from town to town, capturing the isolation of being on the road. The song attempts to balance the troubadour's theme of feeling like a poseur, with despondency, stamina, and perseverance.
He has been called "Alabama's southern gothic singer-songwriter" and plans to release his next video, Doomed To Love Me in 2025.
