Travis Bliven
An oasis of honesty and sultry sound, St. Augustine’s Travis Bliven performs a variety of genres including rock and roll, blues, southern rock, reggae rock, commercial country, and 90s alternative.
St. Augustine, Florida's Travis Bliven gives audiences such a diverse mix of genre, it's hard to tell where the dart is going to land next on his musical map. Covering everything from rock and roll, 90s alternative, and southern rock, to blues, reggae rock, and commercial country, Travis hits both ends of the musical spectrum and everywhere in between. His influences range from blues legend B.B. King to the more contemporary ska punk band Sublime, allowing Travis to access a diverse blend of sound and bring into focus his wide range musical capabilities. Travis has been known to play both the acoustic and the electric guitar during his live performances, depending on the feel of the song and the energy of audiences. He also has over one hundred of his own original tunes credited to his name, extending his setlist to over five hundred songs he is able to pull out of his pocket at a moment's notice.
A former Army medic, Travis carries with him the military codes of work ethic and extreme discipline, honing his craft daily to ensure the best execution of live performance possible. His use of a musical looping pedal on select songs also allows him to explore larger sounds such as using backing drums and playing lead guitar riffs over prerecorded rhythm guitar parts. While some artists make the loop pedal the sole focus of their performance, Travis doesn't overuse this tool, but allows it to create climactic rises and falls within his set.
Graduating from Full Sail University with a vast understanding of music production, composition, and engineering, Travis has produced and written studio music for over 15 years. Travis also has founded Project Shine, releasing his original single, "Shine Like the Sun" (2018), as a call to action for veteran suicide awareness. All proceeds are donated to Mission 22, an organization devoted to the 22 veterans who lose their lives daily due to suicide. The single can be found on iTunes and Apple Music.
