Pele's Wood Fire is a food truck known for serving the Northeast Florida community. Starting out living on the Big Island of Hawaii, owners Matt and Rhyan decided to move to St. Augustine in 2009. They named their business after Madame Pele, the Hawaiian fire goddess.
They prepare and cook their signature red and white Napoletana pizzas on a wood fire stove. Additionally, the menu includes various calzones and burgers — cooked on a wood fire as well — with sides, salads, and a kid's selection to choose from.
One truck is permanently parked at The Village Garden in St. Augustine Beach, just over the 312 Bridge. With two wood-fired trailers and a food truck, the business provides catering and serves its food at various events and festivals.
