In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the passing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the ACCORD Civil Rights Museum & Freedom Trail invites the public to St. Paul AME Church for free a day of education through literature and film. Documentary screenings will be hosted throughout the day, and several authors will be signing and selling their books.

Starting at 10:00 a.m., documentaries on civil rights and Black history in America will be shown at both St. Paul AME Church and the ACCORD Civil Rights Museum.

Special Guest: Ambassador Andrew Young

During the 6:00 p.m. showing of Crossing St. Augustine, Ambassador Andrew Young will be in attendance as the ACCORD's special guest. As the Executive Director of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Young was integral to the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. In 1963 and 1964, he protested alongside local activists in St. Augustine, including Dr. Robert B. Hayling (below).

African American History Book-Signing

Historians, anthropologists, and authors will come together for this commemorative event, offering their books for sale. Starting at noon, attendees can connect with these authors through discussion and book signing.

The following authors (and more) will be in attendance, highlighting their various publications:
