The Civil War at Fort Marion

On Saturday, January 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Castillo de San Marcos returns to the Civil War, when the then Fort Marion housed Union troops and sailors.
The Liberty Guards will portray the soldiers of the 24th Massachusetts, performing drills and showing how the soldiers lived in the fort during the war. Others, representing sailors from the U.S.S. Wabash, will fire the cannons. History talks on two topics will be presented at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

- 9:00 a.m. — Park Opens
- 10:00 a.m. — Drill Program
- 10:30 a.m. — The USS Wabash Crew fires the cannons
- 11:00 a.m. — History Talk: St. Augustine During the American Civil War
- Noon — Drill Program
- 1:30 p.m. — The USS Wabash Crew fires the cannons
- 2:00 p.m. — History Talk: Sons of the Old Bay State
- 2:30 p.m. — The USS Wabash Crew fires the cannons
- 3:00 p.m. — Drill Program
- 3:30 p.m. — USS Wabash Crew Cannon Firing
- 5:00 p.m. — Final entry to the Castillo and the park closes at 5:15 p.m.
