First Coast Opera will present A Golden Age of Opera at 7 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022.
Under the direction of Curtis Tucker, First Coast Opera will perform musical selections from and inspired by the operas of Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakoff and Borodin, among others.
Tucker will host a quintet of singers led by soprano Irina Petrik and Metropolitan Opera pianist Yelena Kurdina performing songs and arias in their original languages. This rare opportunity on the First Coast to hear selections from Eugene Onegin, Pique Dame and others, sung by native speakers, concludes First Coast Opera's 2021-2022 performance season.
