The St. Augustine Amphitheatre has joined with Fort Mose Historic State Park to present a series of six award-winning jazz and blues artists to appear to honor and support the historic culturally significant Fort Mose. On Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., Fort Mose welcomes the bold and culturally diverse sounds of Snarky Puppy.

Founded by Michael League in 2004, the original group included several college friends in a jazz studies program at the University of North Texas. As their musical repertoire grew to include a funkier sound, other musicians joined. Now, this group of soloists and sidemen have found the groove between white and black American music culture accented by music from around the world and brought to life by the group's international musicians. Snarky Puppy plays original music, most composed by the band's founder, Michael League. They have won four Grammy Awards: Best R&B Performance in 2014, and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2016, 2017, and 2021.

The site of the Fort Mose Historic State Park is America's first legally sanctioned settlement of free Africans and was a safe destination for escaped slaves during the early years of the Underground Railroad. This series is part of the county's Black History Month celebration. Proceeds of the concerts will help fund the construction of a representation of the original Fort Mose, which was destroyed in 1740 during the Battle of Bloody Mose.

The Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series is jointly produced by the Fort Mose Historical Society, the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council, the St. Johns Cultural Council, and Flying Saucer Presents.
