The Friends of the GTM Reserve is celebrating #GIVINGTUESDAY with an oyster shell bagging event at the Reserve on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"The oyster shell bagging event is an opportunity for members of the community to be a part of what the reserve is doing," said Debbi Magri, president of Friends of the GTM Reserve Board of Directors. "These oyster shells will be used for the GTM Research Reserve's oyster reef building projects."

#GIVINGTUESDAY employs the power of social media to promote generosity worldwide, enabling collaboration among a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses, and individuals.

Volunteers are welcome any time from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., and can work as long or as little as they choose. Participants are urged to bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Gloves will be provided.
