The Limelight Theatre will present the musical, Parade, from August 4 through September 4, 2022. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays, and will be held at the theater's Matuza Mainstage. Written by Alfred Uhry, with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown,Parade premiered on Broadway in 1998 and won a Tony Award for Best Book and another for Best Original Score.
The musical dramatizes the true story of Leo Frank, a Jew from Brooklyn who lived in Georgia and managed a factory there. In 1913 he was tried for murder of a girl who worked in the factory. This depiction of antisemitism in the south focuses on the Frank's marriage and the hate they encountered, is truly a story of enduring love and compassion.
Admission: Tickets for musicals are $27. One child under 12 is free with purchase of one full-price ticket. Tickets are $17 on the first Thursday of each production (Preview Night) and on Tuesday Nights (Terrific Tuesdays). To purchase tickets, go here.
