Lincolnville is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its settlement by emancipated slaves in 1866, and will recognize the momentous occasion with a kick-off party for the 37th Annual Lincolnville Festival on Friday, September 16, 2016, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Willie Galimore Community Center.
In addition to food, music, dancing, silent auction and cash bar, the Lift Up Lincolnville Revitalization Corp will debut "Lincolnville: A Historic Timeline", which will be presented to the community as a birthday gift and installed permanently in the hallway in the Galimore Center.
The presentation of the 150th Anniversary Proclamation by Mayor Nancy Shaver will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the Alcazar Room of the Lightner Museum. From 6 to 9 p.m., The 150th Birthday Bash and Timeline will take place at the Galimore Center.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will help keep the Lincolnville Festival free, and will also provide funds for American Legion Post 194's after school program "Kids Safe Zone."
Admission: $25 per person in advance; $30 at the door.
When: Friday, September 16, 2016. The Proclamation will be presented at 5 p.m. at the Lightner Museum. The Birthday Bash and Timeline Debut will take place at the Galimore Center from 6 to 9 p.m.
