Jacksonville-based Swamp Radio will present "A Midsummer Night's Swamp," a live radio performance at Lewis Auditorium on Saturday, July 15, 2016, to be recorded for a later broadcast on WJCT 89.9.
Swamp Radio celebrates the art and culture of northeast Florida, and takes its show on the road occasionally throughout the year. This live show will highlight the richness of character and drama in St. Augustine, with a bow to the world's greatest dramatist, William Shakespeare.
Host and producer Iain Mairs brings together a talented group of storytellers, comedians, and actors for the show, including Swamp Radio's resident sketch comedy group The Retreads and musical guests The Willowacks and Shea Birney.
St. Augustine novelist Laura Lee Smith will perform her humorous instructions for the proper way to walk on the beach, while Times-Union columnist Mark Woods will read from his latest book, Lassoing the Sun, and comic writer Kate Norton will act out a fictional St. Augustine trolley driver's most unusual tour narrative.
Admission: Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students, seniors and military. Tickets are available here and at the box office one hour before the show.
When: Saturday, July 16, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Lewis Auditorium is located at 14 Granada St. in downtown St. Augustine.
