The alt-country rock group Old 97's will take the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall stage on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021.
Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1993, Old 97's released their first album "Hitchhike to Rhome" in 1994.
Since then, the self-described "loud folk" band has released 12 studio albums, two full extended plays, shared split duty on another, and one live album. Their most recent release, "Twelfth,"
Current band members are Rhett Miller (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Murry Hammond (bass guitar, backing and lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Ken Bethea (lead guitar, backing and lead vocals) and Philip Peeples (drums, backing vocals).
The band's music has been featured in a number of films and TV shows including "The Break-Up," "Scurbs" and "Veronica Mars."
Their most current release "Twelfth" was released in August 2020. Recording sessions for the album began in Nashville on the night a deadly tornado and right before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. With Dallas Cowboys legend Roger Staubach (No. 12) on the cover, the album celebrates 5 years of sobriety for lead singer Rhett Miller and offers 12 new alt-country songs.

Parking Information: Parking will be available onsite. There will be a $5 parking fee for ticketed events and for free events parking will also be free. For events not produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, parking fees will be at the discretion of the event producer.
