Oldest House Museum: "Stories of Service"
(904) 824-2872The St. Augustine Historical Society presents the exhibit "Stories of Service" in the Dunham Building Map Gallery at the Oldest House Museum Complex, 14 St. Francis Street. The museum will display the exhibit from October 17, 2023, through January 8, 2024. A digital version of "Stories of Service" is available on the St. Augustine Historical Society's website.
The project includes tapes of interviews, photographs, and artifacts provided by several veterans from St. Johns County. They represent every branch of the military and nearly every conflict from WW II through to today. Robert Covert, Special Collections Manager of the Historical Society, met local veterans and recorded oral history interviews with them. Several of the veterans provided materials, documents, and photographs. The goal has been to honor our local military veterans' service and to preserve their stories for future generations.
