Parks and Crafts: Jackson Pollock-Style Art Workshop

The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department hosts Parks and Crafts, a Jackson Pollock-style art workshop on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Canopy Shores pavilion from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Participants unleash their creativity in this hands-on art program inspired by Jackson Pollock’s revolutionary drip-painting technique. Known as one of the leading figures of the abstract expressionist movement, Pollock redefined the art world with his unique style of painting. By splattering, dripping, and pouring paint onto large canvases laid on the ground, Pollock broke free from traditional brushwork and encouraged a more spontaneous, movement-driven form of artistic expression.

Ideal for beginners and seasoned art enthusiasts alike, this program embraces Pollock’s philosophy and invites participants to let go of perfection and explore the joy of creating.

Materials are provided, so there’s no need to bring anything but an imagination and a willingness to have fun.
