Romanza Presents ...
On Thursday, May 15, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the Romanza Festivale presents a trio from the Beaux Arts Chamber Ensemble at the Grace United Methodist Church, 8 Carerra Street, St. Augustine.
Pianist Tao Lin has been a favorite performer at the Romanza Festivale. Last year he performed a concert of piano duos with his wife, Dr. Catherine Lan. Lin is a Chinese American concert pianist and Steinway artist. He has performed across Asia, North America, and Europe, and is a frequent pianist and lecturer at the Music Festival of the Hamptons and the Mainly Mozart Festival. Cellist, Claudio Jaffe, and violinist, Huifang Chen, join Lin this year.
Jaffe was trained as a solo cellist and performed in his first concert when he was 11. He has since performed in concert halls worldwide, including the Merkin Concert Hall in New York City, the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
Chen, originally from Korea and a long-time resident of the United States, is a gifted violinist and conductor who has often served as concertmaster in several orchestras.
For this concert, the trio has prepared a program that includes Paul Schoenfield's Cafe Music, Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in D Minor, op 49, and Schubert's Nocturno.
