Romanza Presents ...
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Romanza Festivale presents classical guitarist Dr. Jonathan Dotson in concert in St. Cyprian's Church courtyard.
Dotson performs works from classical and contemporary composers, including Federico Moreno-Torroba, Jorge Morel, and Michael Chapdelaine. Dotson conducts the Classical Guitar Ensemble in the St. Johns County Center for the Arts at St. Augustine High School. The ensemble's program features music from Jurg Kindle, Matos-Rodriguez, and Tears for Fears. The Classical Guitar Ensemble also performs Antonio Vivaldi's Lute Concerto in D Major (R.V. 93).
A native son of St. Augustine, Jonathan Lee Dotson has earned multiple music degrees, including his Doctor of Musical Arts in Guitar Performance. In addition to teaching music at the college level, Dotson writes and arranges music for guitar and is skilled at music production and recording. He has performed classical guitar on four continents.
