The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents Shawn Colvin on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 8:00 p.m.

Shawn Colvin's music is characterized by her wit, lyricism, and empathy. She began playing the guitar at the age of 10. In the late 1970s, producer John Leventhal encouraged her to develop her own voice as a songwriter. Soon after, she landed a record deal with Columbia Records. Her debut album Steady On won a GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Folk Recording. Colvin's 1996 album, A Few Small Repairs received two GRAMMY awards: Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

She is also an accomplished memoirist. Her memoir Diamond in the Rough reflects not only on the ups and downs of her career, but also her daily life. Like her music, the memoir is rich with empathy, humor, and insight. Colvin's next studio release is a follow up to Cover Girl (1994). It will be released in September 2015.
