On Saturday mornings, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., purchase plants, fresh produce, eggs, cheese, prepared foods, and art at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Farmers Market.
This favorite event for locals and visitors brings a bustling crowd every week as people shop for fresh groceries, gifts, souvenirs, and breakfast or lunch. Vendors line both sides of the corridor between the Amphitheatre front door and the parking lot.
As you near the Front Porch, you'll hear live music from the Free Rangers, a jam band with local and visiting amateur and professional musicians. The Free Rangers offer a wide variety of music including bluegrass, folk, and old rock spiced with the occasional original tune. If it's a perfect Saturday morning, take your time shopping, grab food and a drink from one of the vendors, and sit with friends while enjoying the band.
The list of vendors is long, and the foods available include fresh cheese, locally-caught shrimp, guacamole prepared while you wait, and organic produce. Local authors and artists sell their books, greeting cards, jewelry, baby gear, pet gear, soaps, and a whole lot more.
Each Saturday, several food trucks serve their specialties, a few bakeries offer fresh-baked treats as long as they last, and the Amphitheatre's bar makes one of the best — and spiciest Bloody Marys.
