The St. Augustine Film Society hosts a showing of the documentary, Single-Use Planet (2025) on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Yacht Club. This family-friendly event is a part of the ECO Cinema Film series and partners with Beaches Go Green.
Narrated by Peter Coyote and directed by Steve Cowan, viewers are taken on an eye-opening investigation of how raw plastic debris keeps entering oceans despite people's recycling efforts. Although plastic plays a vital role in our modern way of life and well-being, it brings up the realization that the rate we consume and produce will not be beneficial in the long haul. The documentary team travels to several places: Pennsylvania (millions of tons of plastic are being made), Louisiana (potentially the biggest plastic plant in the world is being built), Washington D.C., and France.
