2nd Annual Sugar Cane Harvest Festival 2014

The St. Augustine Distillery's 2nd Annual Sugar Cane Harvest Festival took place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the KYV Farm, located at 7086 County Road 16a, on December 6, 2014.The event brings together farmers, local artisans and St. Augustine area restaurants to showcase their produce and ingredients and celebrate the sugar cane harvest.

This is an old-fashioned cane boil and music fair, with plenty of fresh food and drinks. Live music will include JJ Grey of JJ Grey & Mofro, as well as the Rivernecks and more.

The sugar cane boil is a North Florida tradition where families and friends get together to harvest the sugar cane and create syrup. Guests can help out with the harvesting of the sugar cane and taste it in its purest form. They can then watch while it is pressed in a Cast Iron Sugar Mill dating from 1883. There will be other activities as well, including tractor tours and games for all ages.
