The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum presents two special exhibits in celebration of the Aviles Street Festival and Spanish Heritage Month, throughout September and October in 2024.

The first, "A Spanish Family" (Una Familia Espanola) presents information and stores about the home's first owner, Andres Ximenez, and his wife, Juanita Pellicer. Andres built this home in 1798, and operated a store on the first level, while he and his family lived upstairs. Juanita was the daughter of a prominent Menorcan resident, Francisco Pellicer.

"One Hundred Years of Friendship" celebrates St. Augustine's relationship with the city of Avilés, Spain, by showing memorabilia from the 1924 St. Augustine delegation to Avilés. The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum is owned and maintained by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida. Four of these women are granddaughters of two men who traveled in the 1924 delegation. Photographs, invitations, newspaper articles, and other items help us learn more about their journey and experiences.

Originally built in 1798, the Ximenez-Fatio House has hosted a diverse array of people throughout St. Augustine’s history. The National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida purchased the Ximenez-Fatio House in 1939, restored it, and created the museum. The Ximenez-Fatio House was accepted onto the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Click here to view their profile on our site.
