Heart of Elaine
A dynamic band based around a brother and sister duo.
Maya, the powerhouse vocalist, explains that the name Heart of Elaine comes from their mother, (whose middle name is Elaine), who inspires everything that they do. Describing her brother as "a dope musician who plays drums, keys, bass and lead guitar," Maya brings listeners "into the world of Maya" through her vocals.
Maya was inspired when she won a singing contest -- the prize being tickets to see her favorite group, The Hamiltones.
Maya is known in the North Florida music scene as a part of the Groove Coalition, and is immersed in music. Saying that they sing old school, new school, and futuristic, her expressive sound comes from her father, saying that "Dad can saaanng."
