Fishbites Trading Post hosts the Kick-Off St. Augustine Fishing Tournament on Saturday, April 27, 2024. This premier surf fishing tournament and the inaugural leg of the Shoreline Showdown Surf Fishing Series targets pompano and whiting fish. This annual tournament provides anglers with the opportunity to test their skills and compete for recognition.
Following this event, additional legs will take place across Florida's coastline in the panhandle, Melbourne, and Jensen Beach. Top performers from these events will be invited to compete in the prestigious Shoreline Showdown Championship Invitational, also held in St. Augustine, in December.
Final online registration for the Kick-Off St. Augustine Fishing Tournament ends at noon on April 26, 2024, with in-person registration at the Captain’s Meeting from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fishbites Trading Post on the same day. Only credit card payments are accepted for registration fees, which are $50.00 per adult angler and $25.00 per junior angler (defined as 12 years or younger). Fishing will commence at the first safe light on April 27th. The weigh-in will take place at Fishbites Trading Post from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with prizes awarded for the biggest aggregate weight and the biggest fish in both the adult and junior categories.
