For more than two decades, Palm Valley residents have hosted its annual lighted boat parade.

Covering seven miles of Palm Valley's Intracoastal Waterway, the boats are not alone in their festive decorations. Hundreds of docks, local restaurants and public viewing areas also get decked out for the holidays for this friendly, laid-back annual tradition.

The annual Dock Competition is judged by parade organizations, participating boaters and a collection of non-partial judges on the water. Prizes and bragging rights are given to the top three docks.

The parade starts 1 mile south of the Palm Valley Bridge and heads north to the last home in Marsh Landing.
