Author Roger Smith will be on hand to sign his newest book, Hope of Freedom: Southern Blacks and the American Revolution, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.

Dr. Roger Smith is a well-known author, guest speaker, and research historian with Colonial Research Associates in St. Augustine. His most recent book is an account of the plight of enslaved African-Americans in the southern colonies during the latter part of the 18th century and the exodus to the Territory of East Florida during the American Revolution.

Hope of Freedom is Book Two in a five-part series on unique stories of Florida and the southern colonies during the first five years of the American Revolution. For more information on the series and on Colonial Research Associates, visit here.

Admission: General admission rates to the Fountain of Youth Park apply. $15 for adults; $14 for seniors (60+) and children (6 - 12); toddlers 5 and under are free.
