Mike & The Nerve, an indie-punk rock band from Gainesville, infuses a fearless energy and unfiltered edge into their shows. With introspective lyrics, catchy refrains, crashing drums, and ringing guitar licks, the band creates deeply relatable and anthemic compositions.

The four-member group comprises Mike Llerena as frontman, Will Diaz on guitar and backing vocals, Nathaniel Fuller on bass and backing vocals, and Scott Marshall on drums.

Graves B'hamala, a modern psychedelic rock group from Jacksonville, Florida, transports listeners back to the iconic sounds of the 1960s with their immersive and original compositions.

The group consists of musicians Evan Carey (vocals/guitar), Harry Winston (bass), and Morgan Mashburn (drums).

The band fuses elements of rock, blues, psychedelia, indie, and funk to create a sonic kaleidoscope of groovy, genre-blurring tunes. They use various effects, such as reverb, delay, and modulation, to craft their atmospheric sound.

From Jacksonville, the indie pop/rock band Coyboi is the duo of Cortnie Frazier and Ihlan Maglore. Both have been active members of the Jacksonville music scene for years, playing with various cover bands and in studio sessions.

They formed Coyboi in August 2020 to create music that uses their favorite genres: soul, R&B, rock, and emo music. With Coyboi, Cortnie and Ihlan get to create and play the music they want to create and play and take their music in any direction they choose. Their sound draws from pop, gospel, jazz, and rock.

Ancient City Poets hosts their annual “Come in Costume” open mic on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Waterworks. 

All are invited to attend and listen to local poets read their poems. Poets are welcome to share their newest work or a polished poem.

Costumes will be judged, with prizes in three categories: Best Literary Costume, Most Creative, and Best Teen Costume. The winners of the costume awards will receive a book by a local author.

The St. Augustine Film Society hosts the Finnish movie Compartment No. 6 on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., at the St. Augustine Waterworks.

Directed by Juho Kuosmanen, and written by Kuosmanen, Andris Feldmanis, and Rosa Liksom, the story is essentially the classic "road trip" plot. A Finnish woman, played by Seidi Haarla, and a Russian miner, played by Yuri Borisov, must share a train compartment on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
