GREENNESS

A mythical math rock four-piece based in St. Augustine.

You never quite know when GREENNESS will next take to the stage. Created in 2004, this Florida-based band creates instrumental tracks with a math rock flare. Their sounds fill the venue like a mage’s spell or a heavy mist through the swamp. Licks that layer, clash, and linger meet bursting percussion in each of their songs. Indeed, the cover for GREENNESS’s track “In Fond Remembrance of Doug Keith. Wait, He’s Still Alive. I Need to Call Him.” features a collage of skateboarders  — an appropriate visualization of the band’s sound, which could be described as ‘organized chaos.’

Artist and composer Elisa Harkins performs music she created specifically to encourage the modern-day use of the Cherokee and Muscogee (Creek) languages.

The event's title refers to wampum belts and indigenous peace-keeping efforts and can be translated as "money on a string." For her audio art, Harkins has used the lyrics of various indigenous songs and combined them with modern dance music. Harkins's music was inspired by sheet music that notated songs sung by North American first-nation natives.

Paul Izak's personal policy of his life and friendships, his music, and organic farming is the same: "keep planting and building." Paul's music foundation began with soloing in his 2nd-grade chorus, developed into songwriting at age 14, and during his late teen years, the reggae band Pressure Drop saw frontman Paul captivate crowds with his hand drum, harmonica, and mellifluous vocals.
