The National Park Service hosts several Birding by Boat tours at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. at the Fort Matanzas National Monument on October 8, 2024. These guided, one-hour cruises offer the chance to observe a variety of bird species, including bald eagles, osprey, roseate spoonbills, and black skimmers, in the scenic waterways around the park. Fort Matanzas is a key stop on the Great Florida Birding Trail and provides vital habitats across beaches, dunes, and marshes.

The Lubben Brothers

These brothers are multi-talented instrumentalists, composers, and vocalists.

The Lubben Brothers’ website states they were “Established in 1994.” These triplets, raised on a farm in Iowa, are all classically trained musicians. Together and individually they sing, write songs and musicals, and perform.

The Lubben Brothers, in birth order, are Michael, who has performed as a solo pianist with classical orchestras and who plays the banjo and fiddle (or violin) as a member of the trio. He has a day job as a pianist at Palm Beach Atlantic University, is music director at a church, writes songs, and mixes the Lubben Brothers' albums.

The St. Augustine Film Society presents a screening and discussion of the award-winning documentary and musical, Bill Evans: Time Remembered (2015) on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at the Temple Bet Yam.

This film, directed and produced by Bruce Spiegel, tells the life story of famous jazz pianist, Bill Evans. It features more than 40 interviews with musicians such as Tony Bennett, Bobby Brookmeyer, Orin Keepnews, Paul Motian, and Jon Hendricks.

Director, Bruce Spiegel, will lead a conversation and Q&A after the showing.
