The St. Augustine Film Society presents a screening of the documentary, Random Lunacy (2007), on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Waterworks.

This inspirational story, which feels like a home video, shows how Poppa Neutrino and his family ditched a traditional lifestyle and became nomads. Written and directed by Stephanie Silber, the film highlights "The Traveling Neutrinos" and their adventures from Moscow to Mexico, with wacky tales of befriending circus performers and street artists, sleeping on beaches, and simply embracing the unknown.

The Lightner Museum presents American Scenery and Souvenirs: Transferware by Paul Scott, from Thursday, April 24 through Monday, October 27, 2025.

Most have seen the traditional transferware commemorative plates in blue and white. In the 1800s, these mass-produced plates portrayed images of cities, American scenery, and landmarks. The plates were popular collectibles, often displayed on the walls or shelves in many family homes for years.

Billy Gilmore with three musician friends on stage

Billy Gilmore and Friends

Check out Billy Gilmore and Friends for a twist on modern bluegrass.

Billy Gilmore was one of those bluegrass instrument prodigies, the kind of kid who learned the five-string banjo when he was seven, and never stopped. He is the definition of a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar in this video, and keyboards in that one. He has played bluegrass, swing, and jazz with several impressive groups, including Brittany Reilly and the Almost Acoustic Band, the Bluegrass Travelers, and Crazy Fingers. Billy is the band leader and frontman for The Grass Is Dead, a band that adds a decidedly bluegrass twist to songs by the Grateful Dead.
