90th Anniversary of the St. Augustine Art Association Exhibit
Celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the St. Augustine Art Association at their retrospective exhibit.
Back in 1924 a group of artists, writers and photographers gathered to form an arts club. This club emerged as one of the largest art colonies in the Southeast from the 1930's-1950's. That club became what we know of today as the St. Augustine Art Association. Their 90th Anniversary in 2014 will be marked with a Gala on February 7th and an exhibit from February 7 - March 2, 2014.
The exhibit will celebrate 90 years of the association's dedication to arts in the nation's oldest city. The exhibit will feature newly acquired works from the Permanent Collection and a "Lost Colony" retrospective. The acquired works to the collection are the premiere retrospective of paintings by the late aviator/artist Julian Courtenay Hunt and an exhibit of works from the Lost Art Colony will round out the exhibition. It's an entertaining and informative journey of art and history commemorating the Art Association's illustrious past and spotlighting plans on the horizon
