Period re-enactors will demonstrate how British soldiers in the colonial days defended Fort Matanzas from attackers. Cannon firings as well as flintlock musket firings will take place.

Visitors are invited to experience this exciting re-enactment and to take pictures. Fort Matanzas defended the southern approach to St. Augustine. This fortress was integral to the safety of the fledgling port town, St. Augustine.

Admission: FREE

Where? Fort Matanzas is located on Rattlesnake Island and visitors must take a ferry ride to get to it. The National Monument is located at 8635 A1A; 15 miles south of St. Augustine. (Visitors can pick up a FREE boarding pass on the ferry at the Visitors Information Center located at 10 W. Castillo Dr.)

When? Saturdays from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
