St. Johns County Parks and Recreation invites veterans to a special fish cleaning workshop at the Usina Boat Ramp at Vilano Beach on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The program offers hands-on training for a wide range of fish-cleaning techniques. Participants can learn everything from basic cleaning and gutting to more advanced techniques such as filleting and skinning, ensuring they develop the skills to handle the various types of fish found in St. Johns County. While everyone is encouraged to bring their own equipment, gear is provided to anyone who needs it.

Participants will need a valid shoreline saltwater fishing license or fall under the exempt criteria, which is determined by the FWC. Find out more about getting a fishing license.

In thanks for their service, this event is only open to military veterans.
