Hurricane Patty's presents a Liar's Contest on (fittingly) April Fool's Day, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Tale Tellers of St. Augustine host the event and invite you to arrive early, enjoy the food at Hurricane Patty's, purchase a round or two of liquid courage, and share your original three to five-minute story on stage. They will award prizes for the best lie in story form.

Emcee and Tale Teller Pat Nease is an accomplished liar, with the awards to prove it, and looks forward to hearing new stories featuring prevarications, evasions, and outright lies. If you want to share a tall tale (AKA pack of lies), you can sign up on the day of the show.

The Tale Tellers of St. Augustine was formed in 1993 by local storytelling enthusiasts. Their mission is to pass on and enhance the art of storytelling. With more than 30 members, this group seeks to revive storytelling as an art form and social means of communication through their many showcases.
